Independence Day always has a special meaning for servicemen and women, but this year Joint Expeditionary Base Fort Story had an extra special party celebrating a huge milestone: their 100th anniversary!
Fort Story has been in continued use since World War I. It’s incredibly important in U.S. Army logistics, Marine training, and Naval operations.
They celebrated with a huge celebration coinciding with July 4th, called Salute to the Nation. It included live music, food, family fun, and of course fireworks for DOD members.
The men and women who serve at Fort Story and participated in the special celebration were on the Hampton Roads Show last week. Click here to hear all about it and see some amazing historic photos!
